Christmas in February

I've been soooo patient and I'm finally getting my Christmas present tommorrow.  JT will show me how he's bringing Sexyback!

Saints won!  It got pretty rowdy on Bourbon Street.  Beads were thrown but nothing like Mardi Gras.

Happy New Years Everyone!  Yesterday I had to seh-beh wearing my hanbok.  I had hoped that shimmy would wear his pink hanbok too  , but he didn't have to.  boooo     I am not a kid anymore so I shouldn't be receiving seh-beh dohn.  But this year was an excepti on because I was wearing my hanbok.  Wooohooo I got seh-beh dohn too!  Although I was groggy and thirsty alllll day from lack of sleep and too much bubbly the night before, the beginning to the new year turned out quite agreeably.

This weekend I had another girl's night out because someone  knew I would luv seeing The Princess in concert -  again!  She's just ghetto but i luuuuv when people keep it real!  She tore up the stage with her energy, popping, voice and lyrics - grrreat performer.  Her backup dancers are amazing too.  Luckily she sang all her goodies, one two step, so what, promise, list goes on.  You can watch the entire concert too at http://music.aol.com/videos/live-concerts/ciara

 

 

The new Nokia Theater is small, fitting only 2,000, so everyone got to be close to the stage.  The front half of the theater is a pit so people can dance and the back half has seats.  I would've been in the pit  if they hadn't keep us waiting on line outside for two hours.

Beautiful friends, Klimt inspired decor, chardonnay, Klimt champagne with edelberry, soup with 25 year aged goat cheese and baslamic vinigraitte, Austrian cheese ravioli, mesclun greens with cute balls of herbed goat cheese, lobster with beet fettucini cooked to perfection, braised nantucket bass plated with a swipe of asparagus, veal wiener schnitzel and ligonberries, edelberry sorbet and gelatin, Austrian hazelnut souffle with chocolate chip ice cream, petit fours, more Klimt champagne with edelberry and riesling.  Floating along the danube was lovely.

Les Mis is back and wonderful!  Every character was sooooo good, except for Fantine - she was plain awful.  But to me her small part did nothing to lessen the rest of the musical.  Thenardier was good in Producers and provided even better comic relief in this role.  I know shimmy wanted desperately to sing along with Jean Val Jean but you can always do that at home.  The two little kids were sooo adorable and had beautiful voices.  This makes up for the first time i watched this show in seoul, the fobby eponine and cosette killed the images i dreamed in my head about my first ever musical.  I loved the small theater that let the casts' voices boom into my ears and my heart.  I looooved it.  We left while everyone was applauding to give shimmy time to walk to the curb with his cane now - slowly but surely.  Db bistro burger, hanger steak and chianti was just right too.  Thank you for a lovely anniversary date!

Happy Six Months to us.  

Yesterday we had some friends over whom we haven't seen for a very long time.  It was so nice to see everyone enjoy themselves and each other!  Our friends r contributed a vat of her yummylicious chili (by special request) with shredded mozzarella cheese and crumbled crackers, and p some fluffy chinatown cheesecake.  For our part, in preparation for the evening, we slaved over the stove all day trying to make sense of Emeril's recipes    .   This is what we came up with:

8 lbs of oven-barbecued baby back ribs
sausage peppers and onions
24 mini jalapeno corn muffins
hash brown potatoess
yellow teardrop tomoatoes
coleslaw
rice

In the end mostly everything was gone, except half the vat of chili, which we are very pleased to have to ourselves!

Puzzling

Lately the cripple  and i have been hooked on sudoku (all varieties) and crossword puzzles.  Usually, I like to start the daily am crossword and fill in as many words as i know.  Then when we get home, the cripple will fill in the remainder and correct any of my wrong answers.  If it was the other way around, i would never have a chance to fill in any of the words!  Anyhoo, some of my entries have been quite humorous to him, as he knew what the correct word was.      Especially the ones where i was off by only one letter.  But i think anyone could have made my mistake, don't you??!!   How would you fill in the blanks?
