  • Sunblock

In theory I could be a beach bunny since I luuuv feeling the sun on my face, but I tan too easily.   :(     Case in point, I get dark just walking across the street to grab lunch during work.  Since summer is around the corner there is no avoiding the uv rays.  Sooo, can anyone recommend a good sunblock for regular use and for the face?  It should be one that: is good for very dry skin, doesn't have that sunblock smell, and is not sticky.  All suggestions welcome!

  • April Showers

My beautiful bridesmaids threw a totally awesome bridal shower for me this weekend. =)  Without my knowing, Yules flew in from chicago and Rubix picked her up.  They became the best of friends while they waited for Perkiee, who kept me occupied with a morning walk and coffee!   I was totally clueless and screamed when I saw her in the restaurant!!    Aren't they something else.   =)   Thank you for being there for me over distance and time, with laughter and tears.  I'm a hundred times blessed to call you friends and sisters!  Shimmy was in on it too!   hmmph!   =)    It was a good time to spend with all the ladies over brunch, live jazz, girly decorations and favors, cake, interactive games, prizes, punishments - i don't like gum  :(   , and slightly embarrasing plastic tiara, wand, sparkles sprinkled into my hair, white gloves and fuzzy pink choker.  haha   =)   What a sight!  I'm sooo glad this is a one time thing!   hehe  Anyhoo, as i'm reading the cards over, i'm deeply touched by all your encouraging words.   I look forward to celebrating with you very soon!  Thank you!!!!

  • Beautiful flowers in my fav color were delivered to my office this morning!!  I wish you could smell them.  Aren't they preeeetty?

  • something about brunch is just soooo nice.  the morning light, crisp air, apricot jam on scone, bright colors of the food and plates, smiling faces of friends.  :)    thank you for making it a beautifully blue spring day!

white cherry blossoms were in full bloom and was a perfect prelude to a japanese excursion!  low profile doors gave way to an elegant interior.  at the bar, the chef served and described each original piece by piece.  no additional wasabe or soysauce was needed cos it was already brushed on as part of the creation.  we took our time and enjoyed each one.  it went down like butter!  bluefin toro with ponzu mousse, marinated tuna with pine nuts on fried nori (yum!), marinated tuna with tofu sauce, squid with shiso flowers, grilled toro and sauteed sea urchin (yum!)...  even the sake was smooth and sweet.  well, i just like to clink the glasses!   too bad they didn't allow pics because each sushi was sooo interesting and pretty!  go for inventive sushi that is subtly complex, delicate and wonderfully melt in your mouth gari good.

I'm just glad that it's done!
