  • In the spotlight, some people make Calvin and Hobbes faces, resort to the familiar look-disinterested-and-stick-out-tongue pose, or freeze into an unnatural Chanandler Bong "smile."

This is soooo going to be us on the day!!   I don't know whether to laugh or cry!!   =)

  • I'm so glad that the weather is warming up and the hours of sun is getting longer.  I love soft sunlight!   Spring is here!  The promise of so many things new!  =)

Shilla has reeeeally good galbi.   It's sooo tender and seasoned just so.  I eat only the meat without any sangchoo.  =)   I love the pure taste of galbi and rice.  Individual servings of spicy soy sauce dressing on romaine lettuce and purple rice are noteworthy too.  Grilled kimchi... yummmm.  although i didn't try it this time, the chigaes, soup and rice dishes (bibimbap) are comparatively priced with hanbat and seoul garden i think.

  • My girls are so super!  MOH & Maid took me lipstick shopping at bloomies then surprised me with a dinner at The Four Seasons.  It was so nice to just get away from it all and spend time with the ladies!  Each are from different parts of my life - middle school in Livingston NJ, international high school in Seoul South Korea, and college in Boston MA - and they get along superbly!  I couldn't ask for better girlfriends.  Thank you for being there for me and for pampering me with a night on town.  I am so honored that you will be standing with me on the day!

Here is a smiley pic of MOH perkiee1004 at our dinner!

They let me order my favorite dish - rack of lambs.  It was sooooo yummy!

  • Cold be gone!

I became deathly afraid of colds after i had the experience of two bad cold two years ago.  Each were 3 weeks long, tremendously painful for my throat and chest, and accompanied by sleepless nights due to non-relief and dry hacking. Of course my roommate perkiee1004 had to put up with me and also had sleepless nights cos my coughing was loud.  To take care of myself, I usually try homemade remedies: rest, fluids, steam from the shower, and chicken soup.  I'll even try medicine: nyquil, robitussen.  This time I'm trying the Pharmacist Recommended Cold-Eeze.  You're supposed to take these zinc filled lozenges within the first 48 hours at the first sign of a cold.  And it is clinically proven to reduce the duration of the common cold.  The first sign of the common cold is a dry scratchy throat.   I have had a scratchy throat since yesterday!!!  So I just had my first lozenge in cherry flavor.  It didn't taste bad at all.  Wish me luck and health!

  •

Tonight, we ran away to Mexico.  We sat under strings of lightbulbs and the moonlit sky.  The mud red walls of the surrounding buildings, the windows covered with brightly colored beads, the large leafy foliage dotting the area, and the mostly out of tune but still charming mariachi trio completed the intimate yet playful mood.  Dinner was al fresco.  Spicy guacomole prepared tableside in lava rock mortar with chips and warm tortilla, steak, chorizos, pork, roasted corn, tequilla, lime and frozen pomengranate margarita.  It was good to relax and enjoy the slowpaced atmosphere south of the border.  Well, really it was rosa mexicano but it felt no different than the real thing.  really!!!   This will be the only Valentines I spend with fiancee.

  • Today's snow day gave me a chance to take it easy and stay in my bed allllll day.  My room was still reeeeeeaaaalllly cold with the heater going.  So i dragged my desk next to my bed so I can surf on the internet with the covers all around me.     Here's the view from jersey city.

poor folks who were shoveling their car from under the snow!
