  • Definitions courtesy of my personal dictionary/encyclopedia:

Truffle - personal dictionary doesn't know what the first one means

    1. the usually dark and rugose edible subterranean fruiting body of several European ascomycetous fungi (especially genus Tuber); also : one of these fungi
2 : a candy made of chocolate, butter, sugar, and sometimes liqueur shaped into balls and often coated with cocoa

Beef Wellington - a filet of beef covered with pate de foie gras and baked in a casing of pastry.

The term OIBL was used in the poem Paul Revere's Ride  to describe the signal used to guide the “midnight ride of Paul Revere” at the start of the Revolutionary War.  Revere had ordered two lanterns to be placed in a Boston Church tower to warn his confederates that the British were on the move.  personal encyclopedia actually doesn't know what that means either.    :)

  • hey. i saw paula deen make a beef wellington on the food tv. it looked pretty good..made my heart ache a bit too.

  • The code was to hang one lamp if the brits were coming by land (on a march), and 2 lamps if the brits were coming by sea. Paul Revere rode hard at around midnight to warn the revolutionaries which way the tories were coming so they could prepare.
