White chocolate souffle at Seppis Parker Meridian and grilled bbq. This jewel was first discovered after spygirl's concert at carnegie hall. The dessert was a great ending to both nights.

Iced Oysters on the half shell, Tarte Flambée, mouth watering Seared Scallops, Almond Crusted and Roasted Loin of Lamb, Chocolate Soufflé, Almond Crêpe Soufflé at beautifully vaulted 11 Madison.
Spamalot opening night with David Hyde Pierce, Hank Azaria and Tim Curry in the cast and great crowd! It's quite cleverly done. To help get into the mood of this bizzare humor, a preview of Monthy Python's Quest for the Holy Grail with cult lovers is a must. Go especially if you get English/homonym humor.

To all my beautiful friends a valentines from Him to you:
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you. Psalm 139:13-18

awwww~ This morning a dozen loooong stemmed velvety red roses in a frosted vase were delivered to my office from my funny valentine, Sweet comic valentine, You make me smile with my heart.
Live jazz paired with the yummiest Memphis baby back ribs, ribs Kentucky, Louisiana, Texas style, actually good restaurant mac and cheese, beans, collard greens, chicken wings, key lime pie, chocolate layer cake with a cold glass of milk, and blue smoke ale makes for a groovy evening at Jazz Standard featuring the Arts And Crafts quartet (piano and hammond organ, trumpet, base cello and clarinet, drums).
My gift was a wallet from a far away land and a squishy pillow, on which I sewed valentine's name. I suck at sewing so that took me two hours. Though the sewing came out crooked, I think the authenticness and the handmade quality of the piece makes it valuable.

"But where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell? Man does not comprehend its worth; it cannot be found in the land of the living. The deep says, 'It is not in me'; the sea says, 'It is not with me.' It cannot be bought with the finest gold, nor can its price be weighed in silver. It cannot be bought with the gold of Ophir, with precious onyx or sapphires. Neither gold nor crystal can compare with it, nor can it be had for jewels of gold. Coral and jasper are not worthy of mention; the price of wisdom is beyond rubies. The topaz of Cush cannot compare with it; it cannot be bought with pure gold. "Where then does wisdom come from? Where does understanding dwell? It is hidden from the eyes of every living thing, concealed even from the birds of the air. Destruction and Death say, 'Only a rumor of it has reached our ears.' God understands the way to it and he alone knows where it dwells, for he views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens. When he established the force of the wind and measured out the waters, when he made a decree for the rain and a path for the thunderstorm, then he looked at wisdom and appraised it; he confirmed it and tested it. And he said to man, 'The fear of the Lord-that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.' " Job 28

Definitions courtesy of my personal dictionary/encyclopedia:
Truffle - personal dictionary doesn't know what the first one means
1. the usually dark and rugose edible subterranean fruiting body of several European ascomycetous fungi (especially genus Tuber); also : one of these fungi
2 : a candy made of chocolate, butter, sugar, and sometimes liqueur shaped into balls and often coated with cocoa
Beef Wellington - a filet of beef covered with pate de foie gras and baked in a casing of pastry.
The term OIBL was used in the poem Paul Revere's Ride to describe the signal used to guide the “midnight ride of Paul Revere” at the start of the Revolutionary War. Revere had ordered two lanterns to be placed in a Boston Church tower to warn his confederates that the British were on the move. personal encyclopedia actually doesn't know what that means either. :)

A Good Cry
Some women, like me, are naturally emotional creatures. We have quick instincts, feel things with the heart, enjoy a good cry, like to laugh till our stomach hurts. It makes us feel alive to have real feelings and to acknowledge them. (I can admit at some intervals I can cry daily.) Some men don't know what to do about this and may get scared, turned off, run away. But that's when fantabulous girlfriends are there to the rescue. They can be a listening ear, waiting patiently until she is ready to share her mind, be on her side, but also ready to share other viewpoints and particularly that of God's as well. Crying can be a compassionate cry, crying for someone else. It can be guilty cry of embarrassment. It can be a release of frustration. It can be emotional or physical pain. It can be feeling loss. It can be crying of joy, which I don't fully understand and have yet to experience. It can be crying in the movie theater over a sappy story.
It can also be a bonding cry because it can be the intro to a sharing of the heart. When you can be that vulnerable in front of someone else, no matter how close you are to them already, a good cry together can bring you much closer. My oppa told me this in college and asked if i've cried with my close girlfriends. I told him I've cried in front of them but we've never cried together at the same time. He said we have to cry together. It was an interesting new idea and i've never forgot it since then. When was the last time you cried?

Colds can lead to cavities.
It's true and has been confirmed by my dentist. So back in December, for about 2-3 weeks I had a really awful cold. I had lots of flem in my throat and my coughs and my throat felt scratchy. I even guessed I had bronchitis. I couldn't fall asleep for that time, save for about 3-4 hours each night. In the meanwhile I kept up my roomie with my gross dry coughs both in the apt and in Paris. (sorreee about that and thank you for praying for me each nite, instead of getting annoyed which is proly what i would've done).
For one or two nights Nyquil knocked me out, but my coughs were usually too strong for the drug's magic to work on me the other nights. I hated to keep drinking water because my stomach was already full from sooo much water, and I didn't want to keep getting up to pee.
The only relief for my throat was to keep on popping candy, lozenges, halls, ludens cough drops, lots of it, to numb my throat from the pain, and even throughout the night while i tried to sleep. I was aware of the possiblity that I could choke on them but it was worth taking a risk. Yup I brushed my teeth every night and in the morning. But sleeping with candy in my mouth for about 3 weeks gave me 3 tiny cavities between my upper front teeth (somewhere i've never had cavities before). The dentist says cavities are formed specifically by sweets and sleeping with candy is a no. Humidifiers are a better way to go. So hopefully you all won't have a bad a cold as I did but if by some bizzare chance you do, now you know not to sleep with candy in your mouth.

Recipe for Chicken Noodle Soup for peeps who have come down with colds.
Start with all ingredients washed. Next in a HUGE pot, fill enough water so that it just covers the Whole 3.5lb Chicken (it was gross rinsing a bird), halved Turnip (i love turnip in broths), 2 halved White Onions, halved Whole Garlic Head, 2 tbls of Caring, large cubes of 2 Carrots and 2 Celery Stalks, and 2 Bay Leaves. Put this over Medium heat until it starts to boil, it might take awhile but that is good cos the chicken juices concentrate and give the broth lots of flavor.
Now seeing all these veggies loaded with vitamins, I understand this must be the reason why chicken noodle soup helps cure colds. Once it comes to a boil, reduce heat to Medium-Low, Partially cover it, let simmer. Go do something else for 1-1.5h. When you come back remove whole chicken and shred up on a chopping board minus bones and skin (the chicken will fall right off the bones).
Have prepared in a bowl the following (you can leave out any ingredient that the peeps who have the cold doesn't like): 2 Carrots and 2 Celery Stalks chopped 1/2 inch, 1 chopped Onion, 2 Garlic Cloves diced, 1 Bay Leaf. Next, heat up some olive oil in another huge pot. Quickly stir veggies into the heated olive oil for 6 minutes to soften. Add in broth from above (minus veggie chunks which can be trashed) and bring to boil over Medium heat. Add Only Half a bag of Wide Egg Noodles (more will turn the soup into stew which is no good) and boil 5 minutes. Fold in shredded chicken and heat it up in the stew, and season to taste with salt and pepper. Makes 4 servings and can be served with some saltine crackers.
Hope everyone gets better soon.- 12:49 pm
